Registration Information:

Apply for a registration form for these exciting 2004 Summer Institutes.

Enrollment Information

To Enroll:
Complete the APTE Summer 2004 Content Institutes Application form.

Funded Enrollments:
All Content Institute enrollment slots are fully funded. Eligible participants will have the following costs covered: registration fees, credit tuition/fees (3 credits), course materials, food, lodging, and travel between their school site and the institute site. Participants will also receive a stipend to cover miscellaneous expenses.

Eligible participants:
Eligible, funded participants may include teachers, teacher aides, school counselors, librarians, school nurses, school psychologists, occupational therapists, or other positions (as approved by APTE) within APTE Partner School Districts (Anchorage, Kashunamiut, Lower Kuskokwim and Yupiit) and Professional Development Schools (PDS) (Bartlett and East High Schools, Central Middle School of Science, Chinook, Taku and Williwaw Elementary Schools, Chevak School, Akiachak Schools and Nelson Island Area Schools). Principals and Assistant Principals in identified PDS Schools are also invited; however, they do not receive a stipend.

Priority Order for Enrollment:

Open enrollments will be filled according to the following priority order:

1) Teaching staff (teacher or teacher aide) in an APTE Professional Development School (PDS) attending their first Content Institute.
2) Teaching staff (teacher or teacher aide) in an APTE Professional Development School (PDS).
3) PDS members attending the Content Institute for which they are applying for the first time.
4) Teaching staff (teacher or teacher aide) within an APTE Partner School District School other than PDS.
5) Other non-administrative certified positions (as approved by APTE) within a PDS attending their first Institute.
6) Other non-administrative certified positions (as approved by APTE) within a PDS.
7) Principals and Assistant Principals within a PDS attending their first Content Institute (no stipend).
8) Principals and Assistant Principals within a PDS (no stipend).
9) Other non-administrative certified positions (as approved by APTE) within an APTE Partner School District School other than PDS.


Enrollment Schedule:

Until February 6, 2004

Applications will be accepted for:

  • PDS reserved slots, and
  • Wait-list individuals for unfilled slots to be released on February 9, 2004.

Applicants with email addresses will be sent acknowledgement of their applications as they are received. Others may contact Josefa LaFurney at (907) 786-4306 for confirmation.

  • Wait listed applicants (February 6 and prior) will be assigned to unfilled slots; all applicants will be notified of their status by email (or phone/mail if necessary).
  • Credit registration packets will be emailed or mailed.
  • Applications will be accepted for remaining slots or wait-listed, as applicable.
February 20 to March 26, 2004 Applications will continue to be accepted for remaining slots or wait-listed, as applicable; applicants with email addresses will be notified of application receipt.
Accepted applicants will be sent registration packets.
