Credit Information for the Alaska Partnership for Teacher Enhancement Summer Institutes is located on the Enrollment Information page for each specific institute under the Registration link. The Alaska Partnership for Teacher Enhancement (APTE) Summer Institute professional development courses offered through the University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA) are generally graded Pass/No Pass, rather than Credit/No Credit or A-F. By UAA standards, "pass" grades for these courses represent student performance/work at a level of "B" or better (above average or better).
The Department of Education and Early Development Teacher Certification Office has confirmed that UAA professional development (500-level) courses graded Pass/No Pass fulfill the re-certification requirement of "upper division or graduate level courses."
Anchorage School District
Through APTE's agreement with Anchorage School District (ASD) Superintendent Carol Comeau, the APTE Institute's Pass/No Pass courses may also count as "A-F graded courses" for movement on the salary schedule. All Other School Districts Participants from all other school districts should contact their district office for the district policy regarding movement on the salary schedule.
